The Social Concerns Committee has decided to collect donations for the YSC (Youth Shelter Care of North Central Iowa, Inc.) this December. If you would like to contribute, please purchase or gather any items below and drop them off in front of the office on or before December 19. Thank you in advance for your generosity!
Youth Shelter Care provides emergency and temporary shelter care to children ages 0-18 and is licensed to serve 20 youth. Referrals for placement come from the Department of Human Services, Juvenile Court Services and Law Enforcement agencies. The youth that enter our shelter have all experienced traumatic events in their young lives and have life experiences that have brought them to the need for out of home placement. We are able to provide them with an environment that is safe, secure and accepting. We assist the youth in maintaining family and community ties whenever possible. The basic philosophy of the agency is to preserve the family unity whenever possible.
