{"id":2131,"date":"2020-07-25T13:47:24","date_gmt":"2020-07-25T18:47:24","guid":{"rendered":"http:\/\/www.stolaffd.com\/?p=2131"},"modified":"2020-07-25T13:48:12","modified_gmt":"2020-07-25T18:48:12","slug":"from-condemnation-to-unconditional-love","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"http:\/\/www.stolaffd.com\/?p=2131","title":{"rendered":"FROM CONDEMNATION TO UNCONDITIONAL LOVE"},"content":{"rendered":"\n<p>If you have kids, you\u2019re no doubt aware of your unique opportunity to show God\u2019s love to them.\u00a0 You can even be the one to lead them into a personal relationship with Jesus.\u00a0 As parents, however, we can sometimes become a stumbling block for our children rather than a bridge to God.\u00a0 For example, out of a desire for their sons and daughters to be successful, some parents keep raising the bar.\u00a0 For instance, if your child brings home an A, do you look for an A+ next time?<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Unless we are careful, our children may mistake their age-appropriate efforts as substandard and disappointing.\u00a0 Later on, they could assume that pleasing God is similarly out of reach.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>As we encourage our children to achieve, we must be balanced and affirm who they are, apart from their performance.\u00a0 When we do, they\u2019ll know we appreciate them and that God values them, too.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Of course, the desire of all Christian parents is for their children to acknowledge dependence on God and to receive Christ as Savior.\u00a0 At the end of the day, our own acceptance and appreciation will help them embrace God\u2019s unconditional love and know that He\u2019s both forgiven their sins and erased all condemnation (Rom. 8:1).<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Please open your bible to the following scripture reading:\u00a0 Ephesians 6:4<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p><em>Fathers, do not exasperate your children, instead, bring them up in the training and instruction of the Lord.<\/em><\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Thoughts from Ephesians 6:4\u2026<br \/>Parenting is not easy &#8211; it takes lots of patience to raise children in a loving, Christ-honoring manner.\u00a0 God\u2019s expression of His unconditional love is found throughout the Bible.\u00a0 Although we are commanded to repent our sins and strive towards the way of God, He never stops loving us in our journey.\u00a0 The Bible shows us that God\u2019s unconditional love never fails and not motivated by personal gain.\u00a0 We thank God that he has offered us freedom from sin and power to do his will.<br \/><em>\u201cA new command I give you:\u00a0 Love one another.\u00a0As I have loved you, so you must love one another.\u00a0 By this everyone will know that you are my disciples, if you love one another.\u201d\u00a0 John 13:34-35\u00a0<\/em><\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Love is more than simply warm feelings;
